I have recently done a Discovery Flight session which was pretty amazing. The instructor was not only helpful in reviewing basic information about the aircraft, but she was also good at debriefing the safety checklist before flying. Additionally, you don't get to just fly next to the instructor, you get to truly fly and control the airplane yourself. The Discovery Flight lasts an hour, but you only get to fly for 30 minutes. The type of aircraft they use to instruct, unless you have your personal airplane, is an SR20. It's a beautiful machine I gotta say, equipped with all-digitalized aviation instruments
