My mom was on a cruise and had a heart attack. The boat left her at a hospital in Cabo, which presented a large issue for my brother and I as she needed stents put in her heart and is also going through chemo for cancer making her a high risk patient. After attempting and failing to work with the travel insurance she had purchased, we turned to Aeromedevac for help arranging her transport from Mexico to the US. Every single person we interacted with was kind, knowledgable, and most importantly prompt. We stayed up for nearly 24 hours straight working with the team at Aeromedevac, and they were amazing the whole time. I am thrilled to say my mom was safely flown back to the US, was able to get her heart procedure, and is recovering well at home now. I am incredibly grateful we were able to work with this company. When you are in a crisis, it can be scary to need to make decisions quickly, but I would absolutely recommend Aeromedevac to anyone in a difficult medical situation requiring international transport. My husband had to be flown from Morelia, Mexico to Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. He had been very ill with a stroke and other medical complications and needed be in a place where he understood the language and could get the therapy necessary to recover. Unfortunately, Mexico doesn’t offer rehabilitation facilities at all. We didn’t have insurance for such a medical evacuation service, so I had to figure out how to access and implement one. It was daunting, especially because at times I didn’t have internet! After comparing several medical flight services, I decided to use Aeromedevac. There were a few glitches in communication concerning medical reports between the hospital in Morelia and the doctors at Aeromedevac, made more complicated because my husband was still testing positive for COVID, the latest event in his medical journey. At last everything was ready and we had the green light to take off from the airport in Morelia. Our kittens were able to join us on the flight, which was a big comfort to us both. The team in the office at Aeromedevac and the flight crew, including a nurse and an EMT, were great. The flight was very smooth. Everything, including landing in El Paso to show our passports for Customs and Immigration, went well. In a short time we were landing in Albuquerque and my husband was met by the ambulance to take him to a local hospital for evaluation. A few days later he was in an excellent rehab center receiving the PT, OT, and speech/cognitive therapy he needs. Although at times I was almost overwhelmed by stress during the process of arranging the flight, I’m very glad we went with Aeromedevac. Theirs is a professional team, helpful at all stages along the way.

Aeromedevac air ambulance is very unprofessional and unreliable. My mother suffered a heart attack on our vacation in Mexico. Her insurance did not cover the air ambulance so we had to pay $28,500 out of pocket to get my mother to a San Diego hospital. I used all my savings, took out loans, and payed the air ambulance. They assured me that they would be communicating with me through the pick up process. My mother was scheduled to be picked up at 5:30 pm -6 pm. I was waiting anxiously that day. I was waiting for a phone call the whole time during that period which I never received. I later received a call around 7:30 pm from the doctor in Mexico stating they did not transport my mother and sent her back to the hospital in Mexico. I then called Aeromedevac and they did not know either of the situation. A few minutes later NP Brian explained that they had removed the intubation tube my mother already had and placed a new one which was shorter and her oxygen dropped and she became unstable, so they decided to sent her back to the hospital without consulting with myself or my family. A few hours later my mother passed. And now the company does not want to refund us for our expenses. This air ambulance did not have the proper staff or equipment to care for my mother as they new the condition she was in prior to scheduling the pick up. The medical doctor’s in Mexico had sent over my mother’s medical record to Aeromedevac and the only medical staff on board was an NP and Paramedic.

I confidently recommend Aeromedevac to any individual or family who needs medical transportation. Its entire team is highly trained and experienced so you can count on a safe, smooth experience from start to finish.

This company is amazing. First their price was the best of all the quotes I got. They made the whole process very easy. I was very concerned about all the phone calls I would have to make between the two facilities and the ambulance to coordinate the transport. It turns out all I had to do was give Carlos all the contacts and he did all the work. He kept me informed thru out the process and called me with the time that the transport was scheduled for. The medical team was amazing and did a great job in getting my niece save to her new facility. A big thank you to Carlos and his team for being very professional and for doing an amazing job!!
