Dearest Airlink, As a frequent flyer with you for the past five years, I feel I have earned the right to lovingly complain. First, your website. Searching for flights often returns “no results” even on days where flights clearly exist and seats are available. It feels like being gaslit by a cheating ex who denies everything with Olympic level confidence. The only workaround is resorting to the app. Which brings me to the app. It works eventually, in the same way a government department “processes” paperwork. Functional in theory. Timely only by accident. Lastly, may I humbly suggest introducing a customer care line over weekends? Many of us are working flat out during the week, largely to afford said flights, and when the booking fails but the funds clear flawlessly, it feels like paying the ransom and not getting the hostage. Waiting until Monday feels like the kidnappers respect weekends. This has happened to me and several colleagues on more than one occasion. Please sort it out Sincerely, A frustrated passenger

I bought 2 Elegant Sunbird (Flexible) tickets for my elderly parents during the Black Friday Sale. I presumed the policy with regards to changing the dates for this type of ticket would still be the same even if it's a ticket bought on the Black Friday Sale. After all there was no mention anywhere that the Conditions of Carriage / Fare Rules are different for Black Friday Sale tickets. I tried to make these changes today and it will cost me > R 2400/ ticket (± R 4800) extra to change it to my desired dates, effectively cancelling the alleged Black Friday saving. I can buy the same tickets on the same Fare Type for ± R1000 less (total) today. The only reason I bought tickets for my elderly parents on the Black Friday Sale was because they were the flexible type of tickets. I can buy the Plain Sunbird tickets for approximately the same price today, than the Black Friday tickets. Cancelling the tickets, getting a refund and rebooking will save me ± R 4000. Of course, I am now going to look for a different airline to rebook the tickets. Despite being a Skybucks member and long-term loyal Airlink customer. In short. The Black Friday Sale is a total scam if you try and change your dates on a flexible type of fare. I have already posted this comment on Facebook. I will be posting it on Hello Peter next.

Note* I have never flown before this, and can thus not truly compare to competitors such as SAA, and Flysafair. My first experience on an airplane, is obviously special, and Airlink achieved a great first impressions from me. Their standout skill is staff friendliness and politeness. Captains warned of turbulence in advance, and both flights went by very smoothly. The aircraft were clean and well maintained inside, but I must acknowledge that larger people might have an immense struggle fitting into the seats, and conversely tall people with leg room. This however has to do with aircraft design, and not really anything to do with SA Airlink as a company. One fair nitpick, the onboard meals, though tasty, and fresh as a mowed lawn, is not of the size that will fill a man easily, and I am a smallish oke.I also wish they asked which muffins one would prefer, as the muffins contained ingredient I don't eat (non allergenic reasons). Can't wait to fly again, and when I do they will be my first choice.

I had a nice flight Quick boarding and take off. Big seats! In this short flight first a drink service and then food. Only the food i had chicken... te chicken tasten like the cardboard outer packing. The smell of the cardboard went into the plastic packing and then in the chicken

I had great experience with airlink for 2 flights from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit and return. -I sat economy, it was a short flight 55 min, but they still had a meal and drink service. -Return flight was less full with some empty seats. -The pilots were nice enough to sign my flight log book, and when they saw me taking pictures outside, they invited me back to take a picture in the cockpit with them. Thanks Willie and Kaity, it was a highlight of my trip. -Flights were on time, reliable. -Overall a good experience, i would fly with them again.
