⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Work by Air West Helicopters Air West Helicopters did an absolutely phenomenal job on a recent sling operation for us, and I cannot say enough good things about their professionalism and skill. Chief Pilot Keith was simply incredible. We were working on one of the most challenging mountain tops in all of Arizona—tight landing conditions, difficult terrain, and no room for error. Keith handled the operation with total confidence and precision. He nailed the sling placement eight straight times, setting loads exactly where they needed to go without hesitation. Anyone who has worked around helicopter sling operations knows how difficult that level of consistency is, especially in rugged mountain conditions where wind, terrain, and visibility can all work against you. Keith made it look effortless. His control of the aircraft, communication with the ground crew, and situational awareness were top-notch. The entire Air West Helicopters team was professional, efficient, and safety-focused from start to finish. When you’re working in extreme environments and the margin for error is zero, having a pilot and company you can trust makes all the difference. If you need helicopter support, especially for precision sling work in difficult terrain, I would highly recommend Air West Helicopters. These guys are the real deal.

Used this independently owned helicopter to exit Supai, Arizona. First come first serve. $100 one way per person plus baggage/ $50 just baggage. 3 min ride to hilltop. Zero communication from staff in Supai. Zero costumer service. No interest in helping paying customers with questions or comments. No scheduling advice. No help whatsoever. It’s literally a set up for safety issues and violence. If it’s the only option you have. Fine. Just be prepared for total silence from staff and up to 8-12 hours wait. Good luck.

We were trying to fly out of the havasupai reservation, and we learned at 8 am without any explanation that flights were cancelled for the whole day. Everyone ended up in a panic, there was a woman that was crying and said “I’m going to die here” What we thought was going to be a 10 minute flight, ended up being a 5 hour hike out of the canyon.

Flew with them 9-28-23. They where very busy so I understand why it took 11 hours to get a flight. However they took our bags at 10am and where told to just take our keys and wallet. Thinking we are about to get on a helicopter we didn’t think about sitting there all day. Everyone there didn’t have any supplies no food, water, clothes, etc. everyone was very frustrated. Also there is no communication, I get it they where busy but a little communication other than “I will call your name” would be great. But hey it’s this or walk out.

Flew air west out of havasupai yesterday. We waited 12 hours for a flight because natives go first and there was a funeral 100 of them were trying to go to. They warn you locals go first so it is what it is. Super professional. Take cash or money order only down there. Definitely worth the wait to not hike out. Talented pilot
