In my personal opinion, Turkish Airlines is one of the best airlines in the world. I have traveled extensively across Europe and internationally, and Turkish Airlines continues to impress me with its professionalism, modern aircraft, excellent service and friendly staff. The employees at the Turkish Airlines sales and service counters are always polite, competent, professional and willing to help. You can immediately feel that customer service is important to them. The aircraft are modern, clean and comfortable. The crews are professional, welcoming and attentive. Every flight I have taken with Turkish Airlines has been a positive experience. One of the reasons I enjoy flying with Turkish Airlines is that the airline connects people, cultures, families and businesses across the world through Istanbul. Whether traveling for work, family or tourism, Turkish Airlines makes international travel easier and more enjoyable. I would also like to share an experience for travelers arriving in Sofia. During my first visit to Sofia, I unfortunately had a negative experience with a taxi service. I was dropped off at the wrong location and was charged approximately EUR 40 for a journey that should have cost around EUR 10. Because of this experience, I recommend that travelers carefully check taxi prices and use reputable transportation providers. Fortunately, Julia, my Airbnb host and coin dealer from Japan, was extremely helpful and supported me in resolving the situation. I am very grateful for her assistance. Despite this experience in Sofia, Turkish Airlines itself provided excellent service from beginning to end. The airline cannot be held responsible for what happens outside the airport, but I believe passengers should be informed and prepared. For anyone considering which airline to choose, I can personally recommend Turkish Airlines. Professional staff, excellent customer service, a modern fleet, a vast international network and a consistently high standard of quality make Turkish Airlines one of my preferred airlines worldwide. Thank you Turkish Airlines. I look forward to flying with you again.

Scam airlines, avoid at any cost. You’ll never have a normal flying with them, they never keep their word or schedule, and in 2025 they pulled the biggest scam in the airline industry canceling 6 continents challenge, cancelling it abruptly because they couldn’t fulfill their plans and leaving everyone who started the challenge scammed.

My fly was overbooked and from Istanbul Airport I get document for compensation. They explained to me that when I go home I need to go on Turkish Airlines Office at the airport(which is temporary closed) and there to apply document for refund. I find only someone on the open gate for Turkish Airlines fly. They navigate me to contact Sofia Office. Problem was they are not reachable. I try to call them several times in several days, no one never answer. Try to write mail, again no one never answer. After several weeks I contact Turkish airlines Office in Varna. They pick up the phone from the first ring and support me with my problem. After less then an hour I have confirmation that my compensation will be recieved in 7 days. If someone have any problems with his fly, go straight to Turkish Airlines Office in Varna!!!

I am both a very frequent flyer within the Star Alliance network and a big fan of Turkish Airlines because of the general quality of service and value for money. But the check-in counter at Sofia Airport must be the worst experience I have ever had with this company. Your ground staff should be better trained in hospitality and rules of engagement. At check-in, despite being in queue for Business Class/Star Alliance Gold members, and the fact that the single counter for that line has the lady in a call, absolutely none of the other Economy counters offered to check me in; even if half of them weren’t even entertaining anyone. When I finally asked one Economy counter lady with curly hair and glasses, she impolitely waved her hand as if shooing a flying insect away while not even looking my direction. Not a good start. After check-in, I noticed that she did not put a priority tag for my luggage despite the fact that I registered my frequent flyer number (Star Alliance Gold status) in advance. I then asked her to make sure my luggage is considered priority and to put the tag, because we have a tight leeway in our schedule after arriving at our destination. She simply added the priority tag, but not reprinted my boarding passes. (This is another separate problem she has caused.) Recognizing this to be a red flag, I went to the Business Class/Star Alliance Gold counter which was now open again, and asked the lady if the system says my luggage is considered priority. She said she will check, and indeed at the boarding gate, she told me it was fine. Or so she says… At our destination, lo and behold, indeed our luggage did not come out as priority and caused us to panic and almost devasted our schedule for the day. Separately, with our boarding passes not reprinted to reflect gold status, every lounge entry and airport transit we attempt required extra checks that needed more time such as calling the Turkish Airlines office to make sure that I was indeed allowed access to the services offered to Star Alliance Gold members. Star Alliance Gold members pay and work hard to retain their status. Asking for what you pay for is not asking too much. This was not an understandable issue of natural causes but rather of lazy, untrained, low-quality hospitality on the part of ground staff members.
