Civic Helicopters.

It was a few years ago that I flew with Civic Helicopters. I flew with Chin, and he was an excellent instructor. I would say his specialty is preparing the student to handle loss of tail rotor effectiveness, whereas by comparison the Bell factory school focuses on autorotations. Four other employees of my company also used Civic Helicopters for recurring training, all experienced, professional pilots. None of us had any of the bad impressions expressed by the 1-star reviewers here.

Disrespectful and extremely inconsiderate pilots. They do not stick to the City’s flight path. They are constantly invading space directly above residential areas from 6am-midnight. There are several open empty spaces nearby yet these pilots teach people it’s ok to fly close to and even circle homes where children sleep and play. The noise and prying eyes makes it feel like my house is policed. This business is awful.

Thank you, Chin Tu, Candise, and the crew at Civic Helicopters in Carlsbad, CA for a great experience while training for PPL. Instructors are professional and great to learn from. Last few flights with Candice and Chin are eye openers. I don’t want to give it away, but I would have paid twice the rate for the last 2 flights with Chin then the standard if I knew the mind blower of a flight I was going to receive. Unbelievable amount of experience from both, Worth it all day. They really drive in the fundamentals and are a wealth of knowledge. I felt totally confident going into the PP check-ride. Civic is also an awesome location to fly out of, the transition to and operating at Ramona Airfield, the night flight time was great, the cross country was a fun box to check. The staff are awesome, easy to work with and flexible with scheduling flights. I absolutely recommend Civic and look forward to visiting and grabbing an hour or 2 when I’m come out to S.D.

Went in for an intro flight. Everyone I met had such a wonderful vibe; so helpful and sweet, and professional. Candice was my instructor and she was AMAZING. She articulated everything very well and I felt well prepared to participate in the flight and was able to follow along as well as expected for a first flight. She was extremely knowledgeable and experienced, calm and relaxed. She made it a wonderful experience for me. I love that this is a family business and I loved that there was a sweet pup in the office - Olive- (I’m a dog trainer currently so dogs always make a good impression on me- especially well behaved ones). If I do choose to continue forward with flight training, I will most definitely return to Civic Helicopters. The experience could not have been better! Thank you!

Candice (chief flight instructor) was the rudest person I have ever met at any flight school. I had called in and made an appointment to take a tour of the school, i was looking for a flight school to finish up my training. And was met with nothing but hostility and rudeness. She didnt even show me around the school, talk about prices or anything. This would be the last flight school on earth i would ever go to
