This review to to express concerns regarding the flight instruction services our son received at Harmony Air. We entered into training with the understanding that he would be prepared to obtain his Private Pilot License (PPL) before beginning college in the fall of 2025. Unfortunately, despite significant financial investment and time, the experience fell far short of expectations. Harmony Air initially estimated the cost of completing the PPL at approximately $14,150 for 40 flight hours, while acknowledging that the typical range is 45–60 hours. Over the course of one year, we paid a total of $30,185 for approximately 100 hours of flight time, yet our son still did not obtained his PPL. The training process was hindered by repeated disruptions and lack of continuity in instruction: The first assigned instructor provided 16.6 hours of instruction between August 14 and October 12, 2024, and stated that our son was ready for his first solo flight. However, this instructor stopped communicating and later was found to have left the company. It took approximately one month to be assigned a new instructor, during which no training occurred. The second instructor required our son to essentially start over, adding 14.6 more hours before his first solo flight in February 2025. Over the course of training, our son was assigned at least six different instructors, causing repeated disruptions, inconsistent teaching methods, and excessive repetition of prior lessons. This lack of continuity led to wasted time and additional financial burden on our family. Most concerning, however, was a safety issue during his final check ride attempt, where he flew from Nashville to Chattanooga to meet the examiner. Harmony Air and his instructor provided an aircraft with a Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) warning light illuminated. The Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) refused to use the aircraft for the exam due to the faulty light. We understand that an alternative aircraft without the issue was available, yet the instructor directed our son to take the one with the illuminated warning light. This raises serious concerns about judgment and safety practices. We did reach out to Harmony Air and provided the BBB with an account of our experience. We do not recommend this company.

I went from 1.3 hours (from 10 years ago) to full PPL with Harmony. I live in Franklin, and made the decision to fly with Harmony due to their large number of planes, and the family feel when I visited. 90% of their instructors are full time, so I could whenever I wanted (weather permitting). They helped me/ sorted everything along the way, including booking a DPE. I had zero wait time for my check ride, we booked it a month out, before I had completed everything, which left me time to finish everything. Weather in the area is great, and I only had a small number of days where I couldn't fly. I flew with Joe W, and he was great. Harmony has a large number of instructors, so finding one that you get along with is very easy. I asked Nick (director of operations) to help me find a the right instructor and he was more than happy to assist. Nick, Amanda and Pam can help with everything along the way, and are great people. I am now using their easy to use online scheduling tool to book aircraft to fly. Thank you for starting my on my aviation journey!

I received my first 15 flight hours and I want to tell people that this school is perfect for anyone wanting to learn to fly. Their instructors are super kind, interactive and will explain any question you may have. Their fleet of aircraft are in really great condition. I loved learning from Harmony Air and will recommend them to anyone.

I absolutely loved my time flying and learning with Harmony Air. They were incredibly supportive and accommodating throughout my learning journey, which really made a difference for me. One of the things that stood out the most was their fantastic flight instructors and their teaching style. My instructor was amazing because he didn't just tell me what to do step by step; instead, he let me take the reins and learn through hands-on experience. Being able to actually control the plane and learn by doing was such a thrilling and effective way to learn. Harmony Air made learning to fly feel like more than just a lesson—it was a real adventure. Their instructors were not only knowledgeable but also patient and understanding, which made all the difference for me as a student. They really took the time to personalize my learning experience, ensuring that I not only learned the technical skills but also gained a deep appreciation for the joy of flying. I'm so grateful for my time with Harmony Air, and I can't wait to continue my journey with them. Flying with them has truly opened up a whole new world for me, and I'm excited to see where it takes me next.
