Hetrick Air Services.

I started my flight training at Hetrick air services in September and Trained there until November of 2024. Positives Firstly, they have nice, well-maintained aircraft, and you have a selection between flying with a six pack or G1000. Secondly, they have amazing flight instructors. Bailey and Reid are the two best instructors I have had throughout my PPL training and what they taught me in the beginning phases of my flight training has been critical to my success to become a private pilot. They do a great job at establishing the fundamentals to their students and are truly experts in their field. Bailey and Reid will set you up for success!! Negatives To fly Hetrick's planes is EXPENSIVE which is the main reason why I left for another flight school. The cost was just too steep to justify, and it was cheaper to travel 30 minutes to an hour for training in aircraft that cost 25-50 less per hour than it was to fly at Hetrick. With that said I do understand why their planes are priced so high given how new they are.... which leads to my next point. Suggestion I really wish you guys had older 172s (or even pipers) that costed less per hour because I would love to fly with you.

I am very pleased with my training experience at Hetrick Air Services. My instructor, Noah Turner, was exceptional, very knowledgeable and patient and made instruction a fun experience. Noah's instruction had me very well prepared for the practical testing for private pilot. The facilities, staff and planes at Hetrick are excellent. I plan to further my training with Noah and Hetrick Air Services and can only highly recommend them to other aspiring pilots.

I started flying with Hetrick Air Services and Noah Turner in April 2018. I quickly realized how fortunate I was to have an instructor like Noah. I remember always feeling comfortable during my lessons because he allowed me to learn at a pace that worked for me. When it came time for big milestones, like the first solo or cross country flights, I felt calm and confident because of Noah's instruction. He made the entire process fun and rewarding, all the way up to the final checkride. All in all I can't recommend Hetrick and Noah Turner enough, and I continue to fly with them to this day.

I started my training with Noah in early May and genuinely couldn't be happier with my experiences. Despite my currently tight schedule, he is very understanding. From giving helpful tips to teaching hands-on, the HAS team in Lawrence has made me feel comfortable in this process as I hope for this to become my future.

I can't say enough about the team at Hetrick. I started flight training with Noah on May 1, 2018 flying 2-3 times a week over the summer and was able to get my private pilot license in the fall. He was fantastic to work with and we stay in touch when I am flight planning or renting. They take good care of their planes and the G1000 Cessna 172 is one of the nicest training planes in the KC metro. The staff will go above and beyond to make sure you have what you need to be successful and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for rentals or flight training in and around KC.
