☆☆☆☆☆ (0/5) Miami International Airport is, without question, one of the most frustrating airports I have ever traveled through. From the moment you arrive, the experience feels disorganized, overcrowded, and unnecessarily stressful. Long lines seem to exist everywhere—from check-in to security to baggage claim—with very little communication or guidance from airport staff. The terminals feel outdated and poorly maintained compared to many other major international airports. Finding your way around can be confusing, and basic amenities that travelers expect are either difficult to find or simply not up to standard. Cleanliness is inconsistent, seating is limited, and during busy travel periods the airport feels completely overwhelmed. Customer service was another major disappointment. Many employees seemed uninterested in helping passengers, and simple questions were met with impatience or no assistance at all. For an airport that serves as one of the main gateways to South Florida and welcomes millions of international visitors every year, the level of professionalism should be much higher. The baggage claim process was slow, transportation outside the airport was chaotic, and the overall organization left a lot to be desired. Instead of feeling excited to begin or end a trip, travelers are left feeling exhausted and frustrated. I’ve traveled through airports across the United States and internationally, and Miami International Airport ranks among the worst experiences I’ve had. This airport has incredible potential given its location, but it desperately needs significant improvements in efficiency, customer service, cleanliness, crowd management, and overall passenger experience. Until meaningful changes are made, I will avoid connecting through MIA whenever possible. Travelers deserve an airport that reflects the world-class city it represents. Unfortunately, Miami International Airport falls far short of that standard.

Miami International is a working airport that handles serious volume without falling apart. South Terminal has that modernized infrastructure feel: covered walkways, escalators and stairs moving people efficiently between levels, clear signage in English and Spanish. The overpass views show the operational side too (catering trucks, ground traffic, the whole machine running), which is honestly kind of satisfying if you like seeing how things actually work. Navigation is straightforward once you’re oriented. The Airport Express walkway system connects terminal areas without much confusion. It’s not flashy, but it moves. For a hub this size, that’s the win. Four stars because it does the job well without being a destination in itself. Solid infrastructure, reasonable flow, nothing that made the trip harder than it needed to be.

I had a great experience here at Miami International Airport. American Airlines did well with my flights in and out of here. The food options were quite plenty and there wasn’t a lack of things to do during my 8 hour layover. On my way back through, I did fly from outside the county and I had a two hour layover originally, but thankfully my flight got in almost an hour early. After clearing customs and security, there wasn’t a lot of time to spare, so if you are flying in from outside the country, you may want to make sure you have a plenty long layover.

Miami international Airport is the primary airport serving the South Florida area, acting as a massive international gateway connecting the United States with Latin America, Europe, and the Caribbean. Extensive Amenities: The airport features a wide array of dining, duty-free shopping, and lounges spread across its North, Central, and South terminals. On-Site Hotel: It includes an interconnected hotel, making it highly convenient for travelers with overnight layovers or early morning departures. Art and Exhibits: The terminals are well-known for integrating contemporary art installations and cultural exhibitions throughout the walkways to enhance the passenger experience.

Took a flight using Norse Atlantic Airways and it went really well. Immigration was easy but security was a little big long and felt very uptight. Once you’re inside though the area is quite clean, has some restaurants, convenience stores, and a nice walking area.
