What a fun and fantastic experience. I did the Groupon 3 hours of ground school + discovery flight with Nexgen a bit ago. The ground school was catered towards people who want to get their PPL and potentially move on to flying for the airlines. Our CFI (Jackson) was extremely professional and friendly. He is a great teacher, very engaging and intelligent. I was lucky in that I was able to fly with him as well. After explaining my knowledge of aviation, he allowed me to lead everything he was allowed to. He treated me with a ton of respect, showed me every step of the checklist, and we went through it together. He briefed me on multiple safety steps and then we carried on. While we were in the air, he showed me a few maneuvers and let me try them out. Overall, it was a great experience. If I lived anywhere near Lexington, I would be planning on getting my PPL with NexGen and I would do my best to make sure Jackson was my CFI.

Specifically reviewing the PSI testing portion of the company They canceled due to weather. 2 other testing participants showed up to take exams. All three of us received no communications that it was canceled. Each participant had 30+ minute drive after a day of 2” of snowfall. All test rescheduling had to be handled by calling PSI directly since the location hadn’t announced their cancellation to them either. Make sure you report the test site cancellation yourself or risk losing your PSI test fee. If the site doesn’t report it they will just claim you missed your test.

After going to a few other flight schools. Stopping and starting again. Nexgen has to be the worst flight school I ever had the misfortune of coming across. They paired me up with a guy who had only been flying for nine months. He wasn’t even teaching me the correct Maneuvers for my private. And to top it off they started charging way too much just before I left and started flying at lunken. I do not recommend school.

I have interacted with NexGen Aviation Professionally for the past two years. In those two years I have met some of the most amazing, intelligent, kind, professional, and supportive people in Aviation. They are a phenomenal company, a great place to learn to fly, and a wonderful group of people to call friends. I cannot speak highly enough about them.

Great place to conquer your fears and step into a whole new world! From my experience, Nexgen Aviation offers amazing real world training you won't find anywhere, the instructors are extremely knowledgable and their aircraft are modern and maintained above the industries standards. They will help you achieve your goals and will challenge you to the edge of your comfort zone making every moment a learning experience while maintaining the highest level of safety. Extremely cost effective; hands down best place to start a career as a pilot and/or picking up a new hobby. You won't gain the level of experience and knowledge anywhere else.
