I had my discovery flight in September it was the best experience I ever had! Everyone was so kind and helpful.

Purdue Aviation could benefit from more structured instructional management and modernized equipment. The current learning environment lacks a dedicated support system for students, and communication with leadership has been challenging and non-constructive. I hope to see improvements in professional standards and student-instructor engagement in the future.

My partner and I earned our PPLs here and I can honestly say that this is a fantastic flight school. They have a ton of knowledgeable CFIs around to pair you with for instruction, and even more impressive, the maintenance crew keeps the fleet of old planes up and running - even with their intense maintenance and repair schedules. Geographically, West Lafayette is the perfect place to learn to fly. This isn't a huge airport - so you won't waste a ton of time in the pattern waiting for jets to come in. The landscape is flat - no worries about CFIT if visibility gets low. The weather is pretty predictable - usually good in the spring/summer/fall, and iffy in the winter. And there are a boatload of good places to land in the countryside if things go south.
