Seair Seaplanes was founded by Peter Clarke, a pilot who grew up in BC, dreaming from a young age about flying seaplanes on the west coast.
Peter financed flying lessons and the purchase of his first seaplane by working as a fishing guide. In 1980 he acquired his first plane, a Cessna 185, his business started with flying charters to lodges and backcountry fishing spots along with other charters for the Canadian Navy, lumber companies and commercial fisheries.
Seair’s main base is located at the Vancouver International Seaplane Base (CAM9) near the south terminal of the Vancouver International Airport on the Fraser River. The office, reception area and hangar are conveniently located close to the airport for passengers with commercial flight connections.

I have been flying back and forth between the Gulf islands for over 20 years. Hands down Seair continues to provide the best customer experience possible. I have made mistakes booking, been late, dealt with weather delays and every single time they do the best they can to help . Recently I double booked a flight and Susan in the office and Sergei on the dock were so helpful and made it right immediately. My experience with other providers is the polar opposite and people are so quick to leave negative reviews , why not pop on and say thank you when it's great . So I will continue to use them first and foremost when possible.

Excellent customer service! Easy to contact via phone or email. You always get to actually speak to a human! Not automated. Great rates, free parking in Nanaimo and South terminal locations. Recently flew downtown Vancouver to Victoria. Beautiful scenery, inexpensive, nice facility, great staff.

A great experience to take seaplane to Mayne island from Richmond. Check in is easy without the need to show any ID. A short safety explanation before boarding. The ride is smooth with soft landing. The over the sky scenery is beautiful. A very enjoyable trip.

10/10 would recommend. From booking to landing it was a great experience. They called to reschedule due to weather and I really appreciated that. I felt like the pilot did a really good job keeping the ride as smooth as possible. The regulars we travelled with also raved about Seair. And the fact that they allowed dogs- and one joined us. 👌
