I had a very disappointing experience flying with Skyward on my recent domestic flight from Ukunda (Diani) to Nairobi flight no. OW 328& OW 339 via Vipingo on 12 July 2026. Our flight was scheduled to depart at 15:15 from Ukunda and arrive at Wilson Airport at 17:15. We only learned of the disruption after arriving at the airport. Instead of flying from Ukunda, we were transported by road to Mombasa shortly before 17:00. We finally departed Mombasa at around 20:15. During the entire disruption, there was: * No advance communication that the flight would not depart as scheduled. * No explanation for the delay. * No meals or refreshments despite the lengthy wait, especially for babies and children. * No meaningful updates while we waited. To make matters worse, the flight landed at JKIA instead of the ticketed destination, Wilson Airport, and no transfer or assistance was provided to get passengers to Wilson or compensate for the additional transport costs. I understand that operational issues can happen in aviation. What disappointed me was not the disruption itself, but how poorly it was managed. Better communication, basic passenger care, and assistance with the change of arrival airport would have made a significant difference. I hope Skyward reviews its disruption management procedures and puts greater emphasis on communicating with and caring for passengers when things don’t go according to plan.

Make sure driver doesn’t drop you off by the entrance to the airport because the Skyward gate is couple kilometers inside the airport.

My new favourite airline! Good pricing, comfortable planes, and above all fantastic customer service. They have a good team. Having flown every other local airline, Skyward is a cut above the others. Looking forward to my next NBI to DAR trip. 🙂👌

Outstanding Service – Above and Beyond! We flew from Mombasa to Nairobi today with my three children, and I had such a wonderful experience that I just had to share. As any parent knows, traveling with kids can be a little challenging — especially when both of my children wanted the window seat! I explained to them that they would have to take turns. However, our incredible flight attendant, Helen Mwangi, truly went above and beyond. She noticed the situation and kindly offered my son a vacant window seat. Not only that, but she also sat with him for a while and took such good care of him. It was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture that meant so much to us as a family. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care made our flight extra special. On top of that, the flight itself had plenty of legroom, which was a great bonus and made the journey even more comfortable. Helen Mwangi absolutely deserves five stars for her exceptional service. Thank you so, so much for making our trip memorable. Keep up the great service!
