Last minute got an available spot for my husband and I to take a float plane out to see bears as well as fish. The trip started with a 30 minute float plane ride that landed on the water and immediately transferred us to our fishing boat. Brandon was our guide and asked what our goals were for the trip, which was a good mix of seeing wildlife as well as catching some salmon. He took us to several spots where we saw grizzly bears with their cubs. We went to a few different locations and caught fish before circling back to watch the bears. We told Brandon we were still hoping to see a moose while in Alaska and he took us to a few extra places to see if we could spot them. This trip offered great bear viewing, fishing, as well as a scenic float plane ride on the way back where the pilot took us over a glacier. I would just note that if you’re planning this trip that there are no bathrooms once you get in the plane and leave, and if it’s raining you will get wet so dress in appropriate gear!

I highly recommend a day of fishing and bear watching with Talon Air Service. Top notch service from experienced pilots and guides. Caught plenty and saw multiple sows with cubs. Our guide was Shreck and he was very friendly, patient, and super knowledgable of the area and where to find the bears. Most of the boats go to one inlet that holds a huge amount of fish and some bears, but I recommend doing what Shreck did and go exploring and fishing in several different areas. Huge area and plenty of time. One of our family’s more memorable days, can’t wait to get back.

Absolutely amazing experience. The entire experience from booking, check in, to the guide was seamless and smooth. We caught fish, saw bears, moose and eagles, and beautiful scenery. Just when we thought it couldn’t get better, on the flight home, the pilot took us over a glacier and let us see it. I can’t recommend this company enough.

More than 5 stars — truly an unforgettable experience. Carter and Liz exceeded every expectation. They went above and beyond to make sure we visited several incredible bear-viewing spots, and we also got to see eagles, which made the day even more special. We had time to fish, and they even cooked our fresh catch for us. Every part of the experience felt personal, thoughtful, and beautifully organized. It was one of the absolute highlights of our Alaska trip, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our 1-Day Bear Viewing & Fishing Trip! It was the highlight of our Alaska adventure. Our captain, Carter, was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. As someone with limited fishing experience, I learned so much from him. He knew exactly where to find the best fishing spots and where to safely view the bears. During our trip, we saw an incredible variety of wildlife, including a female grizzly, two juvenile bears playfully splashing in the water, and a mother grizzly with her three young cubs. Watching the mama bear swim through the water and catch salmon right in front of us was an unforgettable experience. We also saw several bald eagles soaring overhead throughout the day. To top it all off, Carter cooked one of the salmon we caught for lunch—it doesn’t get any fresher than that! On our return flight to Talon Air, the pilot flew us over the glaciers, giving us breathtaking views that were the perfect ending to an already amazing day. If you’re visiting Alaska, don’t miss this experience. It was worth every penny, and I highly recommend it!
