I travel frequently for work and fly with almost every major airline. I often see people complaining about luggage policies, but in most cases the baggage rules are clearly communicated before you travel. It’s always worth taking a moment to read and follow them. I especially want to highlight my excellent experience with Smartwings. The staff, both at the airport and onboard, were friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout the journey. The service was great, and I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the seating was. The legroom and overall seat space felt much better than on many other aircraft I’ve flown. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I would happily fly with Smartwings again.

If your hand luggage is more than 8 kilos be prepared to pay an extra 60 euros on the spot. Also, we've been waiting in the bus standing up for half an hour without going anywhere and without receiving any information on what's happening. Won't use this airline ever again, flight from Bucharest to Prague and back.

Avoid Smartwings! A predatory airline with terrible service. They cancelled my outbound flight without notice, offered no compensation, and charged me €60 to rebook for the next day. The plane was late, filthy, and incredibly cramped. On the way back, they ran a blatant baggage scam at the Prague gate -weighing every bag and charging 70% of passengers extra because their "included cabin luggage" policy is intentionally misleading. The staff were incredibly arrogant. Even Ryanair and Wizz Air treat customers better. Never booking with them again.

Both flights no food besides one single sorry little pasta dish. They didn’t simply run out, it was “cost savings”. The seats on the emergency exit, avoid, hard metal or plastic poking in your back made the 2 hour flight from Bucharest to Prague today very uncomfortable

If you travel with hand luggage + backpack you will be charged on the spot, before boarding the plane (probably on the return flight). When leaving Bucharest I had the same combination. No one told me anything. When returning from Prague I was among the first passengers in the queue. I was pulled over and checked drastically. An employee was standing in front of the plane door with a hand scale as if he was weighing vegetables from the store. In a huge hurry I was told that I had 2 bags and I should only have one, although the backpack should have been included, as I was initially told. All this after the initial return flight was canceled and rescheduled for the next day, which involved additional costs and a disrupted schedule. Cheap low cost company that wants to feel “premium”. After me, the luggage weight check was done randomly or incorrectly (it was not weighed correctly).
