Absolutely beautiful! Had a wonderful stay at a house right on the beach. Nearby restaurant was also great. Can't wait to go back

Had the most incredible time at Mombo. Unfortunately my weekend came to a disappointing end. When I arrived I advised the staff that my departure was on the 13th August and had to catch my flight at 13:05 back to Johannesburg. But it seems all was ignored and was told don’t worry. Nevertheless I miss my flight and 2 other flights to job because of their inconvenience. A very stressful situation after a great relaxing weekend. You guys need to up your game .

Wilderness Safaris work very hard at partnering with local communities to help the people benefit from conserving wildlife. 98% of the camp staff are from the surrounding villages where the camps are located. Much of the funding for wildlife conservation and education of local people comes from the commercial tourism projects which Wilderness has set up in six different African countries. I truly believe that sustainable partnerships such as the ones Wilderness Safaris have set up, are the only hope we humans have of conserving our natural world for the future.

We chose Hoanib as the first leg of our trip. We felt drawn to this particular camp and area because of its raw beauty and starkness, We were a small group of people with only a few camps. This place was truly remote. No access to cellphones or WiFi.( unless it was a necessity which means you can go to the main area) You are forced to switch off, it’s just too beautiful! We went searching for the elusive dessert lions. We came across the incredible scientist who has followed these lions for years,Dr Flip Stander. He is so protective over these beautiful creatures that I assume he does not want them to be harassed. We enventuslly find these beautiful lions and it was a sight to behold. So magnificent! It was a prveledge. I snapped away!!! Back at the camp we shared stories - one also where we had to relieve ourselves in the bushes. It was exhilarating!! Along the way we saw the most beautiful elephants and giraffe. A sight to behold . Drinking a coffee and a snack set up in the bush or on a cliff is such a priviledge but then I think about the locals who don’t experience all of this (for those who want more! ) my experience was mind boggling and so surreal. Driving to the ship wreck, experiencing the Terrain. Seeing research centers, beautiful stones on the beach running through your fingers shimmering. Then eating beautiful lunch on the beach which miraculously appears and set up so beautifully! Everything was decadent and well thought through. Well done wilderness safaris

What a great place. Was there as a volunteer to teach kids to climb. From what I understand, this place exists to uplift small communities in extreme rural areas. So in the camps they have, where you can visit, the communities are responsible for supplying the camps needs. Everyone wins. Keep up the good work......
