If you're in town for the World Cup and want a perspective nobody on the ground gets, this is it. We booked the city aerial tour and got a bird's-eye view of the stadiums, a flyover of the FIFA Fan Fest, and some incredible landmarks that made the whole city feel like a postcard below us. Phil was our pilot and honestly, he made the experience. Professional, calm, and clearly passionate about what he does — he pointed out key sights at just the right moments and made sure every passenger felt comfortable before we even left the ground. Safety was never an afterthought; it was the priority from start to finish, which put everyone at ease immediately. The views of the stadiums from above gave us a whole new appreciation for the scale of this event, and seeing the Fan Fest from the sky was something we'll be talking about for years. 100% worth it. Book it. You won't regret it. 🙌✈️

I'm incredibly impressed with this school and their staff. I chose to fly into Kansas City from Southern California to complete an accelerated multi engine program with ATD. In the weeks ahead of the course, Jim, the examiner who would be conducting my checkride, reached out to offer advice on logistics as well as provide me with study material and expectations for the exam. This provided me with everything I needed to be prepared for the course Upon arrival at ATD, I was paired with flight instructor Luke Helfrich. Luke was knowledgeable, organized, encouraging and friendly. He provided easy to follow study guides that broke down all the material needed to both pass the checkride and safely operate the Piper Aztec. In addition, the package included time in the simulator which allowed me to gain a familiarity for multi engine operations without burning expensive AvGas. The plane was one of 2 Aztecs in the fleet and was in great condition, with easy to use, modern avionics and power that was a step up from your typical trainer aircraft. The logs were easy to follow and the records were well organized. ATD provided checklists that clearly broke down how to perform each required maneuver in the plane. With Luke's help, this made building proficiency in fewer than 10 flight hours a breeze. I felt very well prepared for the checkride at the end of the course. When weather prevented us from completing the flight in the original scheduled time, Jim moved his schedule around so that I could finish the exam first thing the next morning so as to not significantly alter my travel plans. I highly recommend ATD to all pilots as their organization and quality of staff provide immense value no matter the stage of training.

Highly recommend. I walked through a couple of other flight schools before landing at ATD. Well organized and fantastic staff with a great flying culture. Their fleet is up-to-date with modern avionics and readily available if you plan a couple weeks out. My instructor is awesome, experienced, and professional.

I came to town to fly with my elderly grandfather who was a pilot for many years. Having finally earned my private certificate, I was excited at the prospect. ATD made renting the plane easy. As far as affordability, their aircraft cost $20 less per hour than my local FBO. My only frustration, and it's a part of the process, was that I had to pay for a full hour of rental and an hour for an instructor adding about $200 to my rental cost. Overall, the company was very easy to deal with, extremely polite, and I would recommend them for a pilot learning to fly.
