Film Festival, Croisette & Superyacht Season

Cannes is the film-and-festival heart of the Riviera, and its calendar drives some of the most concentrated private-aviation demand in the Mediterranean. The Cannes Film Festival in May and the Cannes Lions advertising festival in June fill every ramp on the coast, followed by a yacht-season summer along the Croisette and out to the Iles de Lerins. Studios, brands and celebrity charters dominate the traffic.

Cannes-Mandelieu (CEQ/LFMD) is a dedicated business-aviation field just west of the city with a roughly 5,300-ft main runway, making it suited to light and midsize jets and turboprops rather than heavies. Larger aircraft and long-haul arrivals route through nearby Nice, positioning empty to Cannes or transferring by car or helicopter. Noise curfews and terrain to the north apply. The Croisette is about 10-15 minutes from the field.

When to fly

Peak season in Cannes is May-Sep — strongest demand around spring and summer. Book 2–4 weeks ahead in season; slot and ramp space at LFMD tighten around holidays and major events.
