Mountain Lion Aviation

I have been taking lessons with Keston and Garrett at Mountain Lion for 7 months, with over 40hours in the air + ground school time. They are extremally knowledgeable and great pilots. They also know how to teach those skills and in a manner that makes it stick. I come from a world of Skydiving (seen a lot) and have complete trust in them. It's an added bonus they are also great people and a true pleasure to hang out with. Blue Skies!

Awesome experience! My son took a flying lesson while we were on vacation in the Lake Tahoe area. His instructor Keston really took the time to explain the techniques of flying in the Sierra Nevadas. Coming from the Charleston-Savannah part of the country, flying at this altitude and along this mountain range was a whole different ball game for my son. I highly recommend Mountain Lion.

I’ve been taking flight lessons from Keston at Mountain Lion for a few months now and it gets even more fun with every flight. The crew here is very flexible with your goals, timeline, and scheduling. Scheduling is done easily online. I commute about 45 minutes for lessons here and it’s worth the amazing instructor, great planes, and unbeatable views. It’s easy to enjoy the journey here without losing sight of your destination.

After a 6 year break from flying, I reached out to Mountain Lion to help me with an IPC and mountain instruction as we recently moved up to Truckee. Garrett got back to me quickly and got me current over the next month - I could not have asked for a better experience! Their fleet of Cirrus aircraft are flawlessly maintained, great availability and reasonable costs (especially with their member programs). Flight instruction is second to none - Garrett is the best, but from what I've seen the rest of the instruction staff is equally fantastic. Mountain Lion has always been fair and reasonable - I couldn't give a stronger recommendation!
