Doha, Qatar

Qatar's gateway for wealth and sport

Doha is a major Gulf business-aviation destination powered by Qatar's gas wealth, sovereign investment, and an ambitious sport and events strategy. The city draws ultra-long-range and heavy jets for football and athletics events, energy and finance summits, and the Qatari social and shopping season. Passengers include royals and sovereign-fund principals, energy executives, and international sport and entertainment figures. Demand is concentrated in the cool November-to-March period, when temperatures ease and the events calendar fills.

Hamad International Airport (DOH) sits about 15 kilometres from the center, with two long parallel runways up to roughly 4,850 metres, among the longest in the region and unrestricted for the largest ultra-long-range jets. A dedicated premium terminal and business-aviation handling manage customs, immigration, and hangarage to a high standard. The flat coastal terrain and modern all-weather infrastructure make operations reliable year-round, with Al Udeid (OTBH) restricted to military use and Bahrain (BAH/OBBI) or Abu Dhabi (AUH/OMAA) as regional alternates. The transfer into central Doha and West Bay runs about 15 to 25 minutes by car.
