Florence is the gateway to Tuscany, drawing private travelers for its Renaissance art, Chianti wine estates, and a wedding-and-events scene set in villas across the hills. Traffic peaks in the temperate spring and autumn shoulders and through summer, with a clientele of cultural travelers, luxury tourists, and destination-event groups. The city and its surrounding countryside are the draw as much as any single attraction.

Florence Peretola (FLR/LIRQ) is the close-in city field, but its short 1,750 m single runway, valley terrain, and curved approach make it demanding and restrict it largely to smaller jets and turboprops. Larger and long-range aircraft typically use Pisa (PSA/LIRP) roughly 80 km west, which offers a full-length runway and FBO handling, or Bologna (BLQ/LIPE) to the north. From Peretola the transfer into central Florence runs just 15 to 20 minutes, while the Pisa alternate adds around an hour by road.
